Day Trip: Amstelpark

This is a trip to a park that's within Amsterdam City limits. I was coming off of my anti depressant medication during this time and I was having a seriously hard time dealing with life...but Brett got me out of the house anyways and we took the puppers with us. I don't even remember when this trip was and it's proving to be quite the difficult post to make. I suppose I'm apologizing in advance. I'll try my best. Hahah

Living in Europe pt.2 // Our Home

Back porch livin'! I thought that I would be much more interested in living out the summer on the rooftop patio, but turns out I hate climbing stairs so much. We already live on the 3rd floor, so taking that extra flight really just puts it over the top. Not to mention I really fucking hate the stairs going to the 4th floor.

Weekend Trip: Berlin// Tampons are Drugs

Guess what? If you look like .. me and Brett?... and you're going from Amsterdam to Germany.. watch out because they will just think you are a member of the drug cartel. I don't know what was up with security that day but DAMN. First we got asked all kinds of questions about what we were doing, where we were coming from, etc etc. You know, the norm. Then we got asked if we had been "Smoking doobies" in Amsterdam. Um... Obviously we say no to the people searching for drugs... but UH.. even if we had (we def had) we would have been doing so legally.

Amersfoort with Yvonne

The entire center of Amersfoort is a protected and well preserved medieval area. In the photos above you can see pieces of the gates that used to be the entrances to the city (first pic). The second picture is what it looks like once you're inside the center. All of the buildings are super old and amazingggg and beautiful. And there's a moat around the entire center. How great is that??

Day Trip: Amsterdamse Bos

This day we decided we didn't want to go too far from the city, and that we wanted a break from constant dog love. lolol.

I was really impressed by this place. All of the goats had really cool pens with lots of things to climb on and fresh hay to eat. They were all SUPER friendly! And the baby goat pen was even more amazing...

Day Trip: Het Twiske

For this little trip we decided to take the dogs with us. We wanted to go adventure more but we felt bad for leaving the dogs. Especially since they get hella mad and cause all kinds of chaos like getting into peanut butter jars and howling like they will never see us again.

Day Trip: Volendam

In February when I was visiting Brett for the first time we got me a pretty little bicycle and we biked all the way to Volendam, NL. I was amazed at all of the bike lanes and such going EVERY.WHERE. My bike is what's called an "omafiets". Which is basically a grandma bike. With back pedal brakes and no gears. That definitely took some getting used to. Someday I want to upgrade to a fancy bike but I love my little omafiets for now.

Two Months in Europe (in a nutshell): PART II

Dutch culture is much different than American culture. *gasp* Dutch people don't hesitate to tell you what's up. They won't just be friendly to you for the sake of being friendly. I have a love/hate relationship with this. It's refreshing and also scary. It makes me realize how many times Americans suck ass for no reason.

Big Move to Amsterdam!

I'm guessing a lot of people think that these types of images would be taken by a stranger--- but ALAS I could never trust a stranger with an aperture of 1.8 and using the focus properly. Hahah.
